Ever since Eddie started working at Headquarters in Indianapolis, many people from Fall Creek Wesleyan and Headquarters had approached Martha Marie and Eddie and suggested they get together. Most of the suggestions ended up as a negative response for them at first. They had no desire to date each other. We were good friends and that's how we wanted to keep it.

Around January of 2002, Martha Marie and Eddie both felt that God was telling them to pray about the possibility of dating while neither of them had an interest in each other and while neither of them knew that God had spoken to them.

In March of 2002, Martha Marie and Eddie had a talk with each other wondering if they should consider dating each other. Since that talk, they started to see the great things that could possibly happen if they started dating.

On April 10th-April 14th of 2002, Brad and Heidi LeRoy, Stevan Sheets, Martha Marie, and Eddie all went to Toronto, Ontario, Canada to enjoy a short vacation at Brad's parents' home. While there things started to make sense in the clearest of ways to Eddie and Martha Marie. On April 13th, they decided to commit to date each other. God put them together in such a magnificient and unique way. So many people were praying for them before they were ever interested.

Martha Marie and Eddie went downtown Indianapolis to celebrate 8 months of dating in December of 2002. They ate at P.F. Chang's and then went to a movie..."Maid in Manhattan." They also took a peak around town to see some of the Christmas decorations.

After they were done hanging out down town, they drove back to the place where Eddie first told Martha Marie that he loved her. He gave her a scrapbook that he made of the memories they had the past 8 months together. The scrapbook had a page dedicated to the words "Will You Marry Me". She was in ultimate shock when she read the words. They got out of the car and Eddie dropped his knee and won his bride to be.
