I hope school, homework, sports, family, hobbies, video games, chores, work, and life is well for you this week. Martha Marie is thoroughly enjoying her teaching position at Hayworth Christian School. I of course am loving what I'm doing! It's such a joy to be able to work with such an incredible group of students, staff, parents, and volunteers! You are a joy!
We have a celebrity among us. Abbi Lord was on TV this week as Thomasville won their game against Lexington this week. This game was one of the Fox 11 o'clock news games of the week. Make sure to get her autograph tonight at youth.
I had a great meeting with Coach Feezor from East Davidson last week. Coach Feezor has agreed to have me on board as an assistant wrestling coach at East Davidson this season. I am very excited about this opportunity! Thanks for you all who have been praying for this to happen!

Fall Kickoff Tonight!
Join us tonight as we kick off “The MaXX” in the Old Sanctuary!
Bring your friends! Prizes will be available to students who bring 2 or more 1st and 2nd time visitors or someone who hasn’t been to youth since Water Wars. The person who brings the most visitors will get the best prizes!
Make sure to bring your fridge arts from the summer to see if you can win a prize as well.
Bring your quarters. Everything in the snack bar will go for a quarter.
Don’t eat supper before you come, we will have pizza for you afterwards.
Don’t forget to pray for the service before you get there. Prayer meeting at 6:30 in the Prayer Room!
Teens-N-Talent
Congratulations to Danielle Cloer and Chase Rhodes for scoring superior ratings at the Teens-N-Talent competition held at Southern Wesleyan this past weekend. Together they raked in almost $1,000 in scholarship money to use to attend a Wesleyan college. If you have a talent in music, drama, puppetry, object lessons, poetry, photography, and other items similar to these, be sure to sign up for TNT in the spring!
Communication Corrections
Barn Bash will take place Saturday, October 30th instead of Friday, October 29th. Worship Practice scheduled for Sept 12 will be @ 2:30 PM instead of 4PM. We will not be sponsoring a trip to SWU’s Fall Preview on September 24. We will be sponsoring a trip to SWU’s Winter Weekend November 19-20 and Pastor Ken will be speaking.
Pray for our Youth Camp
Al Moretz is the engineer that is working on the plans that are due to the county and state departments by September 7th. He has his work cut out for him. Let’s commit to pray for him during this process. In fact, let’s take it another step and email him to let him know that we are praying for him. Sunday School Small Groups
On Sunday, October 3, we will be starting an exciting thing for our Youth Group to help us get to know one another even better. We will be starting small groups during the Sunday school hour for the senior high class. Look for more details later concerning small group sign ups.
Sponsor Training
There will be a sponsor training day on Saturday, September 11 from 9 am-12 noon at the parsonage (Pastor Keith’s old house). Anyone who is interested in being a new sponsor or wants to continue being a sponsor must attend. Click here to let Eddie know if you are available or if you have a conflict..
See You At The Pole and in the Classroom
September 15th is See You at the Pole. This is a great opportunity to be a witness in your school. Check around your school and see what time prayer time at the flag pole is and show up. It may cost you getting up a little earlier, but it’s a worthy sacrifice. Also, East Davidson students, Kim Cline has approached me about her class room being holy ground any morning at 7:45. This is another great opportunity to use her class room to pray for your school.
IWU Rewind Youth Conference
Keep your eyes open for information about IWU’s Youth Conference coming up November 4-6. This is a great opportunity for spiritual retreat, college visitation, and for us aking a cool trip together.
Youth Alternative Transportation
Meet at the church 15 minutes before the event time each Sunday night if you need a ride to Youth Alternative. The van will be returning each Sunday night 30 minutes after the final event time. Exceptions to the rule will be communicated otherwise.
Bible Bowl
Bible Bowl will start up again on tonight from 6-6:45. We will be studying the book of Matthew. This is for teens ages 12-18 that are edicated to studying and memorizing God's word. We will be participating in competitions throughout the year. Email Alta Cloer at fieldingandalta@triad.rr.com.
